Almost Caught Up!

Lisa had her piano students' recital April 1!  Got pictures of Kayla and Tyler.  Somehow I missed Joshua!

 Happy 2nd birthday, Miss Kennedy!

This picture doesn't do justice.  Let me explain!  Rebecca retrieved this barn door from home after Mother's funeral.  She mounted a mirror glass and now it's in her bedroom.  It's been interesting to see how the girls have re-purposed different treasurers from Houstonia.

Even though it was HOT, Kenny insisted on wearing her K-State hoodie to the soccer game.  She just needed someplace to rest her hands!
Jordy was so red and told his coach he needed a "rest!"   Couldn't blame him a bit,

Happy Mother's Day to me :)    Lisa  (Stephen was a few miles away this year.)

A quiet book/activity book was suggested for Kennedy to develop her small motor skills....so Grandma was on it!   There are so many ideas out there, so it was fun deciding what pages to include.  Also, one suggested it might take 50-60 hours to make. Ummm....it took awhile.

The flowers button on and off and can be put in the flowerpot.

The ladybug has a zipper and the spots snap on.  Tie the shoe.

The felt parts come off of the "potato head" and are stored in the jar.

 oops, not rotated.
Spots and spikes velcro on and off.  And that's the book!

Birthday & Easter & Bunkbeds!

Tyler's birthday was celebrated with our Easter gathering this year.  Many Star Wars theme gifts.

I made an Easter bunny birthday cake.  Happy 7th birthday!

"Here, Kenny.....try my bite of ham!"

 Time to eat!

 Eli

It was a rainy day, so our Easter egg hunt was indoors.  There's only so many places to hide eggs in Grandma's living room!

Yeah....I make them dump their goodies in baggies and I keep the eggs for another year!

 Dividing all the eggs evenly.

 Westin

Camden must have been tired.  He doesn't usually just crash while playing on the floor!

I got rid of the air mattresses on the floor and Carly found these bunkbeds on Craig's list.  Takes a village to assemble them!

 I like it!

Our new adventure......NOT!  Ryan was the lucky one to have to load and haul this burned out travel trailer.  It must be valuable to someone??

Doing some catching up!

Let's start with Spring Break for the Varner kids in Bremen, Indiana!  Yes, this was the first week in April, Stephen was nearing the end of tax season, and it either snowed, sleeted, or rained everyday of spring break. On Thursday it did all three things.  We were able to spend part of that week in Indiana and had a great time.  (Lots of indoor time!)

In between snows, Max showed his skills on this __________ (forgot the name of it, but it's harder than a skateboard.)   Let's just say I was content to take pictures and not try doing it.

Just can't let spring break get by without touring "something!"  This time was the candy factory.  We all put on our fashionable nets and off we went!
Here's Lena......
 and Emmy.......

 and Max!
We came home with treat bags of yummy chocolate.

Had time for piano lessons during the week.  Henry went first.

There was plenty of time for pool!  I kind of got hooked playing!

Peter and Grandpa reading a book.

Max and Henry taught me how to play Clue!

Uno was Lena's game of choice!

Boxes of shipping containers began coming and those boxes were turned into all kinds of things.

 Max is a great photographer.

Then it was time to say our "Goodbyes!"   It was a tough one for Grandma.
